In my wife's garden are a diverse collection of inspirational stones. Every time I relax in the garden to commune with the humming birds and chickadees, I invariably take in all the stones and their messages. Some of the stones are imbedded in a retaining wall, others stand alone. All of them remind me of our travels and where we found or purchased them. One stone piece I always enjoy carries the message, "Wish It, Dream It, Do It."
Sometimes the best things in our lives start with a wish. " I wish I could become a successful, professional artist," you might tell yourself. So then you start dreaming about it. Dreams are an important part of life. They help us hold onto the significance of living. But dreams without action rarely take off.
Once you truly decide to "do it" and take decisive action, your wish and dream take shape. There will be twists and turns along your journey, but with passion and resilience you can make progress.
Sometimes the demands of my day job or personal commitments compete with my artistic efforts. Life requires balancing, but if you stay the course and wish it, dream it (and most importantly) do it, you'll be well on your way.
